The Associate Director of College Counseling provides academic planning and support for high school students and their families, leveraging expertise in independent school college counseling or selective college admissions. This role involves managing the college application process for students, planning events, and facilitating advisement for the senior class.
Responsibilities
- Manage the college application process for 40-45 senior and junior students
- Write unique, advocacy-centered recommendation letters for students
- Lead parent-student conferences
- Guide all aspects of the college counseling process
- Plan events and co-host 80-100 visiting college representatives
- Attend conferences and college tours
- Serve as a Grade Level Representative to facilitate the advisement of the senior class
- Staff 10-15 evening and weekend programs per year, including college fairs and information sessions

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in selective university admissions or college counseling
- Team player with a positive attitude

- Polished oral, written, telephone, and e-mail communication skills

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Scoir and Google Suite

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in a writing-intensive discipline preferred
- Experience in selective, recommendation-reliant university admissions and/or college counseling
