This role involves developing and executing AbbVie's enterprise AI strategy, focusing on integrating AI across drug discovery, clinical development, operations, and commercial functions. The Associate Director serves as a strategic partner, ensuring AI initiatives align with business objectives and patient impact.
Responsibilities
- Support development and execution of enterprise AI strategy
- Partner with the Director to ensure alignment with AbbVie's business objectives
- Support functional and business unit leaders in continually refreshing their AI strategies
- Incorporate latest AI innovations and identify opportunities for accelerating strategic business priorities
- Oversee AbbVie's external AI advisory board, coordinating across functions and BUs
- Gather key insights from advisory board meetings for application in AI strategies
- Contribute to innovative solutions for biopharma applications using AI expertise
- Assist in establishment and execution of operational frameworks and governance
- Monitor, analyze, and report on the progress and impact of AI initiatives
- Provide thought leadership and support in crosscutting capabilities including responsible AI and data readiness
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, AI/ML, Physics, Math, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or similar
- Experience in strategy (9+ years with Bachelors, 8+ years with Masters, 4+ years with PhD)
- Work experience with life sciences or tech companies on AI
- 2-3 years at a top consulting firm
- Broad understanding of current AI and ML technologies
- Effective project management and teamwork skills
- Experience in AI/ML, enterprise thinking, time management, project management mastery, strong interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, AI/ML, Physics, Math, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or similar
- 9+ years in strategy with a Bachelor's, 8+ years with a Master's, or 4+ years with a PhD; must include work with life sciences or tech companies on AI; 2-3 years at a top consulting firm
