About This Role

This role involves assisting Parent Account Managers (PAMs) in managing global relationships with designated U.S. Corporate Clients. The Associate will contribute to commercial client management, marketing, origination, and transaction execution for ING's Wholesale Banking division.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate annual credit review of client relationships, including identifying and analyzing key credit issues
  • Propose and review terms and conditions for transactions/RFPs, including pricing, structure, and covenants
  • Guide annual group reviews and transactions through the Risk/Credit process
  • Develop a well-rounded knowledge of allocated sectors
  • Create and maintain strategic global client account plans
  • Support PAMs in client meetings and preparation of comprehensive marketing presentations
  • Identify commercial opportunities for new business, including cross-selling ING's products globally
  • Identify and analyze potential prospect clients within set growth and portfolio parameters
  • Provide support in origination and execution of transactions in collaboration with clients, product specialists, and the network
  • Participate in client visits across the U.S. and occasionally in Europe, actively engaging with clients
  • Ensure data quality in internal client management and credit commitment databases, coordinating KYC and ESR matters
  • Develop advanced knowledge in a specific product area and/or Rep Office activity, and share with colleagues

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • 1-3 years of banking experience (client relationship management, financial advisory, corporate/structured/acquisition/syndicated lending, event finance)
  • Good overall knowledge and understanding of ING's product capabilities (Working Capital Solutions, Transaction Services, Financial Markets, Debt Capital Markets)
  • Experience with corporate credit analysis, structuring, and execution of lending transactions
  • Strong understanding of ING's commercial banking platform and international network
  • Solid Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Willingness to complete FINRA Series 79 and 63 exams
  • Analytical and judgment skills
  • Credit risk analysis knowledge
  • Product/business/sector knowledge
  • Ability to support and coordinate transactions spanning business/geographic boundaries
  • Strong communication and literacy skills (written and verbal)

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required; Master degree is a plus
  • One to three years of banking experience, ideally in client relationship management, financial advisory, corporate/-structured/-acquisition/-syndicated lending and/or an event finance type role
