Keane & Beane, P.C. is seeking motivated associate attorneys to focus on general litigation, labor/employment law, municipal law, and/or school law, serving clients in New York. The role requires strong legal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of general litigation from discovery through appeals
- Handle arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, and advise on labor/employment statutes and related litigation
- Represent school districts and educational entities in daily advice, student discipline, special education matters, contracts, and bidding
- Provide day-to-day municipal representation, municipal governance and administration, drafting local laws and resolutions
- Represent land use boards during evening hours (Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals)
- Defend Article 78 proceedings and advise clients on SEQRA compliance
Requirements
- Admission to the New York bar at the time of hire
- Strong writing, advocacy, research and analytical skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently while being detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a law firm setting
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications
- Several years' experience practicing law
