Assist in managing an Afterschool and/or Summer Program, ensuring a positive, safe, and enriching environment in accordance with the Henrico Education Foundation's mission and policies. This role involves program planning, staff training, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist Sr. Center Director/Center Director in managing the operations of a 21st C or Learning & Discovery afterschool program, and summer program
- Serve in direct delivery of program
- Serve as a point of contact/Learning Labs Assistant Program Director to Program staff, including training, performance management, coaching, and task management
- Assist with planning Program lessons and activities and coordinate supplies
- Administer medication to students, as necessary
- Assist in ensuring adherence to all government (VDOE), local (HCPS), Henrico Education Foundation, and 21st C grant regulations and standards
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with Henrico County Public Schools (principal, administration, teachers)
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, vendors, staff, and community
- Respond to all inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
- Interpret, communicate, and promote the Henrico Education Foundation mission, goals, and objectives to employees and community
- Collaborate with school staff to intentionally connect out of school time programs with the school day and/or other school goals and initiatives
Requirements
- Meet or be working towards meeting the requirements of Assistant Program Director as detailed in the Virginia Regulations for Licensed Child Day Centers
- Experience working with students
- Experience working in a licensed child care facility or with grant funded educational programs
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Qualifications
- A graduate degree or bachelor's degree in a child-related field such as elementary education, nursing, or recreation, or 48 semester hours of college credit with 12 in child-related subjects
- At least 6 months to 1 year of programmatic experience depending on education level, and experience with students and licensed child care facilities or grant-funded educational programs
