Assistant Operator

About This Role

Operate and maintain a full converting line and finishing equipment to produce high-quality products according to Pregis standards. This role involves ensuring customer specifications are met, maintaining productivity, and training other employees when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of full converting line and finishing equipment within Pregis standards for waste, quality, and productivity
• Understand and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Set up and operate special functions and capabilities with minimal supervision
• Train other employees when requested or required
• Analyze issues, determine, and implement solutions, providing innovative ideas for improvements
• Direct press crews in the efficient operation of machines using developing leadership qualities
• Read and understand all information on job tickets, ensuring all necessary components are present before proceeding with a job
• Achieve print quality and register equipment to produce required quality and acceptable registration
• Understand and set up/operate press controls including splicer, gluer, Straub applicators, Label Applicators, rotary cutter, and register systems
• Perform cleaning as required according to SOP 1.01 and as directed by the First Operator
• Maintain accurate counts on every job

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 5-7 years of progressively responsible related experience
• Technical ability to operate all types of full converting line and finishing equipment
• Knowledge of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow standardized work instructions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 5-7 years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
