The Assistant Operations Director supports the Operations Director in ensuring efficient operational activities, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction for a pharmaceutical care provider.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of operational strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness across departments
- Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
- Coordinate with department heads to manage workflow, allocate resources, and resolve operational issues promptly
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement
- Support the Operations Director in budgeting, forecasting, and managing operational expenses
- Lead and mentor operational staff to foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Implement and oversee safety protocols and risk management procedures to maintain a safe workplace
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying bottlenecks and recommending process enhancements
- Facilitate communication between senior management and operational teams to ensure alignment on objectives
- Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned by senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in operations management or a similar leadership role
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of operational best practices, compliance standards, and safety regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management or a similar leadership role
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline
- Experience in the specific industry relevant to the hiring organization
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
- Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and data analytics tools
- Demonstrated success in change management and driving operational transformation
