The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for helping develop and support a comprehensive extracurricular sports program, adhering to all policies, and maintaining a safe and positive environment for student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Receive coaching assignments and other responsibilities from the head coach
- Help develop and support an athletic program embracing alignment of youth, middle school, and high school athletics
- Adhere to all policies and guidelines set forth by the Athletic Handbook and MSHSAA rules and regulations
- Help to maintain a conductive and safe environment at all times
- Develop and maintain positive relations and team morale with students, parents, staff, and community
- Work with the head coach to develop and place a team on the field of competition and substitute players appropriately
- Attend in-service trainings conducted by head coach and participate in off-season preparation
- Promote academic achievement through high standards of academic performance
- Help maintain, issue, and provide an accurate inventory of school equipment
- Adhere to ISD Board Policies and Regulations
Requirements
- Current Substitute Certificate
- CPR, AED, First Aid Certification
- National Federation of High School Concussion
- Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of football
