This role will assist in leading comprehensive food, beverage, and culinary operations for a 330-acre retreat, ensuring alignment with service standards and maximizing financial performance. The Assistant Director of F&B will drive revenue growth and uphold exceptional guest and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on developing and implementing promotions, food and wine pairings, menu items, and presentations
- Develop and execute a food and beverage operating strategy aligned with overall business objectives
- Ensure consistent and ongoing communication across all food and beverage areas
- Review in-house and local market business with leadership teams and proactively address operational challenges
- Evaluate staffing levels to ensure guest service and operational needs are met
- Set expectations and hold leadership teams accountable for desired service behaviors
- Provide real-time feedback based on observation of service performance
- Estimate food, liquor, wine, and beverage consumption to forecast purchasing needs
- Review financial reports to assess performance against budget
- Ensure cash handling and beverage control policies are implemented and followed
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management, or a related professional area OR 4 years of experience with an Associate's degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency in POS systems
- Proficiency in Inventory Management Systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED OR 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management, or a related professional area with a high school diploma/GED.
