About This Role

Assist in the coordination and oversight of the Adventure Bound Day Camp programs for children aged 5-11, including activities, enrichment, and field trips. This role also involves supervising program staff and contributing to administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordination of all aspects of day camp programming including participant registrations, weekly activities, field trips, enrichment classes/programs and special events
  • Assist in daily implementation & supervision of camp operations, ensuring safe and appropriate use of all program and facility space/equipment
  • Prepare weekly activity schedules and purchase required supplies with input from day camp leaders and aides
  • Assist with organization and planning of camp orientations, staff trainings and team meetings
  • Ensure positive daily communication with participant families regarding camper expectations and behaviors
  • Assist in facility and room scheduling, ensuring essential set-up and take-down of assigned day camp program reservations
  • Assist in scheduling use of and conducting regular routine inspection & maintenance on vans used for program activities & field trips
  • Adhere to and implement all Adventure Bound Day Camp, Chilson Center, and City of Loveland policies and procedures, including any state or federal regulations for licensed school-age day camps
  • Act on behalf of the Day Camp Director in their absence
  • Provide leadership and guidance to program leaders, aides, part-time instructors and volunteer staff

Requirements

  • Verifiable experience working with school-age children in recreation, education, scouting or 4-H
  • Completion of specific educational qualifications or significant childcare experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate and operate a 15 passenger City van (with training)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age upon hire

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Child Development, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Elementary Special Education, Family and Human Development, Family Studies, Special Education, Outdoor Education, Recreation, or Human Services; OR Associate’s degree or sixty (60) semester credit hours plus three (3) months (455 hours) of experience; OR Twenty-one (21) months (3,185 hours) of experience and six (6) semester hours or a current early childhood professional credential level II (2) or higher.
  • Work with school-age children in recreation, education, scouting or 4-H, combined with specific college education or extensive experience in childcare.
