Lead a commercial lines underwriting team, driving profitable growth and overseeing underwriting operations to ensure compliance with guidelines and strong underwriting judgment within a local territory.

Responsibilities

• Lead a commercial lines underwriting team
• Drive profitable and disciplined growth
• Oversee underwriting operations
• Ensure compliance with corporate and regional guidelines
• Model strong underwriting judgment across all lines of business within a local territory
• Support underwriters on complex accounts, pricing decisions, and agency strategies
• Partner with underwriting, marketing, and branch leadership on agency planning and performance reviews
• Guide underwriters and agents toward annual goals and improved profitability
• Manage agency relationships and develop new partnerships
• Address underperforming accounts, monitor workload and authority levels, and coach team performance

Requirements

• Six or more years of commercial lines underwriting experience
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, preferably in Insurance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in Insurance
• Six or more years of commercial lines underwriting experience, with prior leadership or supervisory experience

Nice to Have

• CPCU or other underwriting designation
