The Area Maintenance Technician is a lead role responsible for guiding and coordinating maintenance activities to improve equipment uptime and production reliability on their designated shift for a growing manufacturer of quality Aerospace and Industrial components. This role partners closely with Manufacturing and Engineering and mentors shift maintenance technicians.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, prioritize, and track work orders for production equipment.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to define scopes of work and action plans for equipment repair and improvements; attend and contribute in cross-functional meetings.
- Inspect machines and equipment to verify operational performance and optimize utilization.
- Use basic hand tools and electrical diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment deficiencies.
- Train and mentor less experienced technicians on maintenance best practices and safe work methods.
- Develop and standardize processes and procedures to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
- Lead work efforts for assigned project tasks; drive completion to plan.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization; able to work in teams and independently.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in a maintenance role.
- At least 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in a maintenance role, with at least 2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Nice to Have
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics.
- Certification in mechanical, electrical, or multi-craft apprenticeship.
