A&R for EDM

About This Role

This A&R role is responsible for discovering and securing high-quality melodic EDM music for spiration music, a fast-growing independent record label. The role focuses on increasing the quantity and quality of music released by identifying new artists, evaluating demos, and managing artist relationships.

Responsibilities

• Listen to demos submitted to the label
• Reject demos that do not meet label standards
• Finalize song acceptance with the owner/team
• Persuade artists to work with spiration music
• Answer contract and marketing-related questions for artists
• Recruit new artists and re-engage former collaborators

Requirements

• Heavy interest in melodic EDM with a pop edge
• Love for discovering new music
• Ability to give constructive feedback to artists
• Basic understanding of EDM sub-genres (e.g., Future House, Future Bass, Progressive House, Hyperpop)
• Basic understanding of sales techniques (e.g., asking questions, overcoming objections)
• Basic understanding of music production terms for artist communication
