Application Engineer - Protection, Automation and Control

About This Role

The Application Engineer will gain expertise in OMICRON protection testing solutions and system protection applications to provide product and application support to internal and external customers. This role involves assisting with training, troubleshooting, and participating in marketing and sales activities.

Responsibilities

• Work to gain knowledge of OMICRON protection testing solutions and system protection applications
• Assist internal and external customers in the proper and safe use of OMICRON protection and testing solutions
• Provide competent product and application support for relay, metering, automation, and control equipment testing
• Use CRM tools to monitor assigned queues and administer cases, training, and customer meetings
• Use systematic troubleshooting methods to identify and resolve product or application issues
• Support marketing and sales activities by participating in industry events such as trade shows, user meetings, and workshops
• Assist in preparing and delivering in-person or virtual product and application training
• Assist in preparing application notes, magazine articles, and technical papers
• Assist in constructing, operating, and maintaining the training laboratory

Requirements

• 1-2 years experience in protection, automation, and control in the power industry
• Hands-on experience testing protective relays
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and maintenance practices for power systems
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
• 1-2 years of experience in protection, automation, and control in the power industry.
