Analyst/Associate, Development

About This Role

This role involves comprehensive engagement in real estate acquisitions and development, covering financial analysis, site acquisition, due diligence, and construction monitoring to drive successful projects. It requires strong analytical and modeling skills to support business units and senior management with critical financial insights.

Responsibilities

• Focus on all aspects of real estate acquisitions and development, including financial analysis and modeling, site acquisition, due diligence, and zoning
• Prepare detailed financial analyses and models for transaction underwriting and return on investment analysis
• Provide key takeaways to business units, corporate finance, and senior management
• Provide timely explanations of variances between actual results and forecasts/budgets
• Assist project managers in various development activities, including site acquisition, financing, and governmental approvals
• Conduct market assessments, site assessments, zoning assessments, and other due diligence
• Underwrite new development deals and prepare business plans
• Author internal and external correspondence for transactions, offering memoranda, and RFP responses
• Manage detailed municipal filings for development-related programs

Requirements

• Experience in real estate financial modeling (corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or real estate investment sales/debt platforms)
• Strong quantitative, financial analysis and modeling skills
• MS Excel skills
• Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in groups and independently

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred
• 1-5+ years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, private equity or real estate
