This role is responsible for evaluating public markets asset classes and categories, developing and maintaining a focus list of recommended strategies for clients, and presenting investment recommendations to the Mariner Enterprise Investment Policy Committee.
Responsibilities
- Conduct sourcing and due diligence on assigned asset classes and categories
- Contribute to the production of the quarterly manager monitor for EIPC meetings
- Develop and maintain a focus list of recommended investment strategies
- Collaborate with Mariner advisors to create search books for new manager allocations
- Develop primers and education presentations for assigned asset classes and categories
- Present updates, recommendations, and new ideas to the EIPC
- Conduct Annual Asset Class Reviews to provide updates to the EIPC Investment
- Identify short-to-intermediate term tactical investment opportunities
- Attend client meetings to assist advisors with asset class education, manager interviews, and strategy placements
- Mentor research associates within the group
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- At least three years of investment strategy due diligence experience
- Knowledge across multiple asset classes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized self-starter with the ability to multi-task effectively
- PC proficiency including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- At least three years of investment strategy due diligence experience
Nice to Have
- MBA or CFA charter
- Experience with Morningstar Direct and eVestment Alliance
