Airport Security Screener

About This Role

Join VMD Corp as an Airport Security Screener, safeguarding critical air infrastructure at the Greater Rochester International Airport. You will ensure passenger safety by identifying dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and on passengers, while providing outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Screen passengers and baggage using various electronic imaging and screening equipment
• Perform critical safety tasks such as conducting pat-down searches
• Operate x-ray machines and hand-held wands
• Communicate courteously and interact with travelers, providing directions and responding to inquiries calmly
• Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds or assist others in lifting
• Stand and remain standing for periods of up to three hours
• Successfully complete required classroom and on-the-job training and certification exams

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
• At least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
• Ability to pass a computerized assessment (pattern recognition and 2D/3D spatial reasoning)
• Ability to pass and maintain required medical evaluations (vision, hearing, joint mobility)
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and remain compliant throughout employment
• Ability to meet eligibility requirements for a TSA Public Trust, including successful completion of post-offer background, criminal, and financial checks

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
• No prior experience necessary
