AI API and Integration Designer

About This Role

Lead the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of AI and data analytics solutions, focusing on AI API development and integration between AI-powered solutions and business processes. This role ensures effective and scalable delivery of value to members and employees by working closely with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the definition of data intensive and AI-powered solutions to enable seamless integration between AI systems and applications
• Collaborate with software engineers, AI and data engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop scalable APIs
• Define and execute strategies for production deployment of solutions
• Document AI API design and specifications, implement versioning strategies, and oversee API lifecycle management
• Manage AI API operations, monitoring performance and addressing potential degradation of SLAs
• Ensure deployment processes run smoothly and define processes for smooth updates and rollbacks
• Partner with quality assurance engineers to provide test plans and cases for testing end-to-end AI-powered solutions
• Develop code if required, following AF’s API coding standards
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers
• Ensure the security and performance of APIs by implementing authentication and authorization measures
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance API functionality

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of API design, development, testing, and deployment experience
• Deep understanding of machine learning/AI principles and tenets, with working experience designing and implementing APIs to embed AI solutions into business applications
• Minimum of 3 years working with machine learning models and intelligent decisioning algorithms
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java
• Experience with RESTful, microservices, SOAP web services, and familiarity with OpenAPI (OAS)
• Experience and discipline utilizing multiple version control software products and change management processes
• Experience with API development and management tools such as MS Azure API Management, Apigee, Mulesoft
• Knowledge of advanced data analytics and predictive analytics including data sciences, text analytics and machine learning
• Experience interacting with Data Science, ML tools such as Dataiku, Azure ML, Databricks AI, etc.
• Understanding of cloud-based data engineering processes, as well as exposure to data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
• Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger or Postman
• Familiarity with database management and data modeling
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Statistics, or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
• Minimum of 7 years of API design, development, testing, and deployment experience, with 3 years working with machine learning models and intelligent decisioning algorithms.
