Adjunct Nursing Simulation - OB Faculty

About This Role

This role involves guiding nursing students as an Adjunct Nursing Simulation - OB Faculty member, providing academic support, and contributing to curriculum enhancement within West Coast University's innovative learning environment. The faculty member will apply their skills and experience to a teaching schedule and advance student success in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mentor, role model, and facilitator providing guidance and academic support for students
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching, the teaching/learning process, and for individual students
• Apply skills and experience to assigned teaching schedule
• Participate in and contributing to assessment activities of courses/curriculum and programs via a continuous improvement plan
• Regularly contribute to improvement of class materials and syllabi within prescribed shared governance culture
• Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to instruct students, facilitating observable evidence of student fulfillment of prescribed learning outcomes
• Maintain scholarly activities
• Participate in professional growth and service in accordance with university policies
• Advance commitment and focus on the students served, and their success as healthcare professionals
• Fully leverage innovative technologies and resources, such as Simulation and Innovation Labs
• Assume complete responsibility for students in clinical facilities (if applicable)
• Clarify clinical expectations with students (if applicable)
• Assess student knowledge and skill level to ensure safety and optimal care to patients (if applicable)
• Provide feedback of clinical performance immediately after observation of event and of overall performance at midterm and end of semester (if applicable)

Requirements

• Master’s degree in nursing
• Professional nurse licensure
• Minimum of two (2) years’ prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
• Minimum of one year experience in the field in which they teach
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Working with online learning management systems

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing
• 2+ years prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and a minimum of one year experience in the field in which they teach
