About This Role

This Adjunct Faculty position involves coordinating, planning, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction in Psychology for the Dual In The Schools Program. The instructor will engage learners, organize instructional content for diverse learning styles, and assess student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, prepare, present, and evaluate classroom instruction and related activities for Psychology
• Remain current in the Psychology discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners
• Organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles
• Devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes
• Participate in professional development, academic advising, and curriculum design activities
• Plan, organize, and teach curriculum content in conjunction with course outcomes
• Facilitate appropriate instructional activities that promote student engagement and learning
• Evaluate student performance using assessment tools; inform students in a timely manner of their progress
• Create and administer assessments that monitor student progress; provide timely student feedback
• Notify students of key dates and course adjustments

Requirements

• Master’s or terminal degree in Psychology or a related discipline
• Official documentation of credentials and degrees
• Currently employed by Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS)

Qualifications

• Master’s or terminal degree (e.g., J.D., M.D., M.F.A) in Psychology or a related discipline
• One year of teaching experience at the college or high school level in the 'subject matter' or significant professional experience relevant to the teaching area.
