Accounting Controller

About This Role

Lead the accounting team for a manufacturing facility, overseeing all accounting functions, managing procedures, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing financial reports. This role involves reporting directly to the CEO and Directors and ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency for a growing, family-owned dental lab.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functionality at the company
• Manage all accounting procedures
• Manage accounting staff
• Maintain a general ledger and/or chart of accounts
• Review payroll
• Manage cash flow
• Perform month-end financial reporting
• Ensure adherence to budget
• Handle contract renewals
• Oversee the month-end close process, identifying and eliminating inefficiencies
• Prepare financial reports
• Establish and maintain internal controls
• Create and maintain company budget
• Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payables, and inventory personnel
• Approve monthly health insurance and rent payments
• Send out weekly financial reports to management
• Review weekly payroll and 401(k) uploads
• Lead all contract renewals (insurances, software, and tax)
• Assist tax accountant on year-end reports
• Work on special projects as needed

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations
• Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial processes
• Manufacturing experience
• Well organized with ability to prioritize
• Excellent with Excel (REQUIRED)
• Strong financial modeling skills
• Ability to understand the business from an operational standpoint

Qualifications

• Degree is in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience
