A Brake Operator

About This Role

Safely and accurately set up and operate a press brake to bend, form, and shape sheet metal components according to specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake equipment to bend sheet metal to precise dimensions
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and shop drawings
• Select correct tooling/dies based on material, thickness, and bend requirements
• Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications
• Make machine adjustments to maintain part accuracy and consistency
• Perform basic machine preventive maintenance as required
• Safely move raw materials and finished parts (manual or assisted)
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety protocols, policies, and work instructions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
• Strong understanding of bend allowances, tolerances, and sequencing
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to perform basic math and conversions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Entry level, 1-2 years of press brake operation or related fabrication experience preferred

Nice to Have

• 1-2 years of press brake operation or related fabrication experience
• Sheet metal fabrication experience
• Experience working with brake press CNC controls
• Prior manufacturing experience
